Highlights

Location: steps away from the ancient harbour

On-Site Dining: classic British pub grub served until 17:30

Accommodations: rooms with scenic views of the Forth Bridge

Pet-Friendly: welcome environment for animal companions

“The Stag Head's true heart is its traditional Scottish pub, refreshingly free of modern gimmicks, where the atmosphere is welcoming and the beer flows in a relaxed, convivial setting. What's particularly impressive is how the hotel creatively adapted during restrictions, converting the car park into a beer garden. The rooms, though simple, offer great value, especially when compared to Edinburgh's pricier options.”

Great Location and Friendly Staff

main streetfriendly staffcozy pubeasy access
The hotel is on the main street. I found it easy to access my second-floor room. My window overlooked the bakery next door. The pub downstairs was cozy with friendly staff and locals.
The windows were old and did not close properly. This let in some noise from outside and made the room a bit drafty at night.
Rooms
8/10
The single room included a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. I found fresh towels and toiletries were provided daily. There was also a small desk suitable for working, with good lighting and easily accessible power outlets.
